EGUSD plans review of proposed curriculum materials
The Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD) has developed a curriculum that it feels will give its students the best possible start to their academic careers, and has issued an invitation to local families to review the proposed materials that have been chosen for inclusion.
According to the district, it selected the texts and other educational items because its members feel they will best support a pupil’s efforts to develop a high level of proficiency in the English language. Parents, caregivers, educators, and other stakeholders from the community have been invited to preview the items in question, which will be on display in Robert L. Trigg Education Center’s Café Express. This can be found directly opposite the building’s board room.
In addition to having a chance to peruse the new materials, those who attend will be offered an opportunity to discuss them with representatives from the district. All feedback will be appreciated, and forms will be provided for this. A spelling or reading tutor in Elk Grove can help any student to do his or her best, no matter which materials are used as teaching tools.
This curriculum review event has been planned for next Tuesday, April 18, and anyone who would like to find out more has been asked to get in touch with the Elk Grove Unified School District’s Department of Curriculum and Professional Learning office, which can be found at 9510 Elk Grove-Florin Road. They can also contact LaRae Blomquist at (916) 686-7757, extension 67219.
