How to help your child have a successful school year.

What's New at Allendale

WE TEACH STUDENTS HOW TO LEARN

GradePower’s programs approaches learning in a fundamentally different way that goes beyond tutoring. While we are building strong academic skills, we also help students develop new ways of thinking, concentrating, listening, remembering, and believing in themselves. Our programs work with children ages 3-6 in our Little Readers program and go all the way up to college readiness and study programs.

OUR TEACHING METHODS

GradePower’s teaching methods are based on a proven scientific process known as Cognitive Learning. Cognitive Learning is about helping your child get the “Ah-Ha” moments of true understanding. Through this process, children develop the skills required to “get it’ for themselves, so that they continue learning long after they leave us. Just think of your child’s brain as a muscle capable of great strength. Without exercise, that muscle will be weaken and become incapable of strong performance. Think of GradePower as a skilled trainer working that muscle to get it into top shape, ready for a lifetime of vital use. That’s what cognitive learning can do – and that’s the Grade Power difference.

COACHING – NOT TUTORING

Although all children are unique, their brains have similar physical qualities and processes. That’s why we combine cognitive learning with interactive coaching, a proprietary teaching method that respects each child’s individual abilities while focusing on those universal processes.

With Interactive coaching, children are guided to discover how efficiently they are using their own minds. We want to make sure that our students don’t just solve problems, but that they understand how to solve them. Interactive coaching uses individualized programs and feedback while developing healthy self-esteem and goes beyond tutoring to create active thinkers. It leads to a lasting love of learning.

EXCELLENCE IS POSSIBLE

How can we be so sure that we can help your child achieve better grades? We have a history of leading children to success. Better grades happen because our curriculum gets back to the basic and teaches how to think for themselves. We can help your child how to concentrate, to plan, to organize, and to believe in himself/herself. You will see your child’s self-esteem and confidence grow as he/she learns to succeed!

THE ASSESSMENT TELLS THE STORY

When students fail to reach their potential, there is always a reason. Since the reasons are not always obvious, we have developed the most dynamic assessment tools in the field. GradePower is the undisputed innovator in the field of diagnostic assessment and program development. We measure a whole range of indicators to precisely pinpoint how your child learns and what barriers your child must overcome to do better in school.
