Riverton student greenhouse open for business
Riverton’s Jordan Academy for Technology and Careers (JATC) South recently announced that its greenhouse, which is maintained and operated by its students, is open for business and ready to help area residents bring some color to their yards.
The public is invited to browse through the assortment of products, including seeds, vegetable starter kits, annuals, and perennials. Shoppers can browse through the various items, and personnel will be on hand to offer suggestions and other advice.
The facility is operated as part of the Greenhouse Production and Landscape Management programs that are offered for students in high school from all across the Jordon School District. It noted that when community members purchase plans and other materials form the greenhouse, they are supporting local learners and giving them experience and skills that they can put to use in their future careers. It will also provide them with an assortment of other learning opportunities that can help them to be able to get better grades in Riverton, whichever program they may be in.
The greenhouse plant sale at the JATC South will operate from Monday to Friday. Its doors will open at 8:00 am, and will close at 3:00 pm, with the exception of Tuesdays, when it will remain open until 6:00 pm. Customers can also visit the program’s website, where they can select the plants, seeds, and anything else they wish to buy. They will need to go to the facility to pay for and pick up their purchases.
