Staten Island high school sits among the very best
One of Staten Island’s educational institutions has been chosen to take its place among the best in the whole country.
Staten Island Technical High School took 35th place out of the nation’s top 100 schools in a list that was compiled and ranked by U.S. News and World Report. It also placed near the top for USA high schools when it comes to the STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) subjects, and was selected to be the recipient of the publication’s Gold award, which recognized its all around excellence.
The ranking of the country’s schools took several factors into account, and two of these are how well each prepares young people for post secondary education, and also how well its scholars perform on state mandated testing. It was noted that the Staten Island Technical High School has an advanced placement participation level that sits at 100 percent and has an equally high graduate rate. Its pupils were found to be proficient in both English and math, and 35 percent of the youth who attend classes inn the school are considered to be economically disadvantaged.
Whichever school a young person attends, families can call upon providers of high school tutoring in Palatine if their child needs additional academic support above and beyond what they receive in the classroom.
This is the third year that the institution has earned a place on the publication’s list of the country’s top learning facilities, and it is one of five special admission high schools in the city of New York.
