Suspend In-Class Learning, Offer Virtual Tutoring
GradePower Learning Centers, Inc. announced that many of its locations will be suspending their in-class tutoring lessons and offering virtual tutoring lessons.
“Given the ongoing communication from the World Health Organization and government at all levels, adding this option ensures that any student, parent, or teacher who is unable to attend tutoring in-center can still access tutoring lessons and ongoing academic support,” said Lenka Whitehead, President of GradePower Learning.
“We hope that by offering the online option, we will be able to not only help keep our students on track academically, but also offer a bit of the daily academic structure that students are already familiar with,” said Whitehead.
GradePower Learning previously only offered in-center lessons available for students at a 3:1 student-teacher ratio. Adding the online option is one measure being taken to help encourage social distancing in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We understand that this is a time of uncertainty for all of us,” adds Whitehead. “Parents will be particularly concerned as the current climate may be especially alarming for children who may be feeling unsettled or insecure by the rapid change to their regular routines. Our Facebook and website will have regular updates for our families and different educational and fun activities for children.”
“As a community of educators, parents, and students, staying healthy is of utmost priority for everyone. We will do everything in our power to help our families navigate through these unchartered waters. It’s a difficult time for everyone and we all have to pull together to get through it,” Whitehead adds.
